You’ll Need the Following Supplies to Make a Card:

  1. Scissors or an exacto knife and cutting mat

  2. Glue stick

  3. 5x8 index cards or other type of card stock

  4. 10-15 various images that appeal to you. You can find them in magazines, picture books, collage books or printed from online copyright free sources. Choose images that you're called to, hold energy, and resonate with you whether positively or negatively. You'll want 5x8 or larger background images, people, animals, nature and embellishments.

  5. Pen and paper for journaling

Steps to Making a SoulCollage® Card:

  1. Clear a work area for yourself with plenty of room to spread out.

  2. Gather the materials listed above and have them close by.

  3. Take time to go through the magazines or other picture resources to tear out images that appeal to you for any reason. Don’t question why you’re drawn to images. Let the images choose you.

  4. Cards have one subject, one background and 3-5 embellishments. That means you may have a person who is the subject, sitting on a background of bubbles, with a lamp and table as embellishments. See below to learn more about the three elements per card.

  5. Start to lay out the images in a way that feels right for you as you move them around until they find their place on your card. You’ll know when it looks “right” as you use your intuition to guide you.

  6. When you’re ready, glue them onto your 5 x 8 mat board or card stock and if you have a brayer use it to smooth out the images on your card.

Other Tips for Making Cards:

  1. Remember that “Meaningful” cards are more important than “Beautiful” ones

  2. Use a Beginner's Mind and go with your gut and intuition and don't think too much   

  3. Typically no words are added to SoulCollage® cards since the image and the subconscious do the speaking using a question and answer method called, “I Am the One Who . . .”

  4. Use can also use a frame if that’s helpful to see your border as you creating

There Are Three Elements Per Card:

  1. One subject or energy per card. Look through your photos - let the photo choose you. This is the main focus of your card. It can be a person,  animal or element in nature. This is the part who will speak it’s wisdom during the journaling portion

  2. Look through your background photos - go with your felt sense, Choose something that is around 5" × 8" for a background 

  3. Choose 3-5 embellishments with are smaller items that might add to the energy of the larger two items

Optional Materials:

  1. Frame with 5x8 cut out (to use as a border while composing your cards)
